We at Arnold Veterinary Hospital are a general, mixed animal clinic. We treat companion as well as large animals. We do not treat exotic pets, though we can refer you to someone well qualified. If you are new to the area or just looking for a veterinarian, we suggest you establish a client-veterinarian relationship before you have an emergency.
We provide routine examinations, vaccinations, in house and referral diagnostic laboratory testing. We have an in house pharmacy as well as an online pharmacy. We do most general surgery; spaying, neutering, ear trims, tail docks, declaws for cats, tumor removal, suturing lacerations, dental cleaning cleaning and extractions. For your pet’s health, we recommend spaying and neutering. Not only does it make them a better pet, but reduces the risk of cancers of the reproductive systems as well as keeping down the pet population.
We also provide boarding and grooming. We have a groomer on staff that grooms during the week. Our boarding facilities consist of 19 inside kennels and 12 outside runs for larger dogs and exercise for inside dogs. The outside kennels are covered, shaded and have fans. The inside kennels have air conditioning and heat.
Partnered with Hill’s Pet Nutrition, we are able to provide your pets with healthy, balanced food. We carry Prescription Diet foods, for animals with medical condtions and Science Diet foods for preventative care, healthy development and life stages. In office we feed Hill’s food to our patients.
We provide our own emergency service after hours, weekends and holidays. Our phone is answered after business hours by our answering service. In the event that we are unavailable, we are partnered with Southern Regional Veterinary Specialist in Dothan, who can be reached through our answering service.
Please feel free to come by and visit us anytime or call us for any questions you might have. As a general rule we only make appointments for surgery and grooming. We simply ask that you call the office before bringing your pet for services, or simply drop them off in the morning and pick them up later that afternoon.
In addition to our small animal services, we also practice large animal medicine and surgery. We have a barn equipped for haul in services for cows and horses. We also make farm calls for emergencies and routine herd work, vaccinations and heard health management. We have an ambulatory truck with vet body and portable squeeze chute for cattle work.
